My grandmother recently left me her entire collection of picture books and children's literature. The entire collection is comprised of over 300 books. I am attempting to read as many as possible in 2014.
Listen to the Wind
written by Greg Mortenson, illustrated by Susan Roth
I want to start by saying I know there is controversy surrounding Greg Mortenson and his schools/books. I don't know enough about all the issues to comment on them though.
I liked the illustrations best in this book (since I was taking the entire story with a pretty large grain of salt), however, I wish the people in the book had been browner. (There is a marked difference between the skin tones in the illustrations and the skin tones in the photographs.)
