My grandmother recently left me her entire collection of picture books and children's literature. The entire collection is comprised of over 300 books. I am attempting to read as many as possible in 2014.
So Far from the Sea
I enjoyed this book as a kid, but didn't enjoy it as much as an adult. There were just little things: everyone looks miserable in all the illustrations (camp life wasn't dour all the time), the translation of the kanji on the obelisk is incorrect, one character compares internment to Pearl Harbor. But these little things took away from my enjoyment of the book.
