My grandmother recently left me her entire collection of picture books and children's literature. The entire collection is comprised of over 300 books. I am attempting to read as many as possible in 2014.
Many Moons
written by James Thurber, illustrated by Marc Simont
I haven't read the original, so I have nothing to compare this one to. I enjoyed the story and Simont's watercolor illustrations very much though. At first I thought it was strange that anyone would update a Caldecott winner (unless there was something objectionable in the first version, which I can't imagine was the case with this book?), but the update works.
